This month was a big month of transition. We welcomed many new women into our homes, and we are so excited to help them with their journey.

In the Past Month

Action Church Outreach

Thank you so much to our Action Church partners who faithfully, every month, come to minister, disciple, and pray for our women. We are so grateful for your faithful partnership, your attention and care are blessings for our women. Your prayers are powerful, and you are making a huge impact to all of the lives you touch.

Overdose Awareness

We attended two overdose awareness events this month. The first was an overdose awareness candlelight vigil at Lake Eola hosted by Project Noelle, in honor of all who have been lost to overdose. All of the women were a part of this event, and had the chance to connect with, support, and minister to those who have lost their loved ones. This was a beautiful commemorative event to honor lives lost, and an opportunity for Armor Up to spread hope and awareness to prevent and support addicts in the future to prevent more lives being lost.

We also attended overdose awareness day at Reiter Park, where we got to connect with other resource providers and partners in the recovery community to help boost awareness and come together to help the drug overdose community and their families. We were honored to get to meet the mayor, a big advocate for recovery.

Women’s Night at Action Church

Thank you Action Church for making it possible for all of our women at Freedom House and Victory House to go to Women’s Night at Action Church. Some other women from our motley crew attended with us, and it was an amazing night of worship. We listened to a great speaker with a great message about going through life together, and there was a lot of love, laughter, and bonding. The women left very filled up, there was not a dry eye in the house.

Spiritual Milestones

At one of our weekly bible studies, we had two women make the decision to get on their knees to say the salvation prayer and turn their lives over to God. They also decided to get baptized at our next baptism event in December. This incredible step in their spiritual journey is a personal choice, and while not all of our women choose to say the prayer of salvation and be baptized, the ones that do find it to be a big step in their recovery process as they surrender their wills and ways and past for God’s total healing and redemption in all that He has for their future. We are so proud of them, and so grateful and blessed to be able to take part in this.

Family Dinner

We welcomed many new women into our houses this month. We are so excited to help them in their journey of recovery. We had a wonderful house dinner with all of our women. House dinners are a weekly event at Freedom House and Victory House. The dinners are prepared and served by the women in the houses, helping them to build skills such as cooperation, teamwork, planning, and responsibility. The dinners also help to foster a community of support and friendship within our houses, creating an environment ideal for recovery. After dinner, we have our house meeting where we laugh, cry, bond, and pound out our week together.

Baptism

This month we also celebrated the baptism of the daughter of one of our graduates. It was a beautiful moment, and we are so happy to have been there to support her as she takes this step in her spiritual journey. We always continue to support and be a part of the lives of our women and their families post graduation, we love to see them thrive.
